BARRY J. McLOUGHLIN

Barry J. McLoughlin has over three decades of experience as a leadership trainer, communications consultant, and educational program designer. He is the President of TLC Transformational Leadership Consultants Inc. – a leadership communications firm specializing in Encountering the Media®, Leadership in a Crisis, Getting Your Ideas Across, Appearance Before Committees and private coaching and issue management.

A former television writer, producer, and broadcaster, Barry is recognized as one of North America’s leading communications consultants and seminar leaders, creating and delivering over 5000 seminars for governments, associations and corporations.

Barry has been profiled and interviewed on such programs as CBC’s The National, CTV National News, and Global TV’s The West Block and Global National, as well as making regular appearances on 1310News and newspapers throughout Canada and the United States.

Barry received his Masters of Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1983, where he specialized in the study of the media’s impact on government, business, and public policy. In 2014, Barry graduated from the Certificate Program, Teaching the Case Study Method, at Harvard Business School. In 2009 he graduated from UCLA’s Professional Screenwriting Program.

Barry is a Fellow in the Riddell Masters Program in Political Management at Carleton University where he is a frequent lecturer in Strategic Communications, and Political Management and the Media.
